Sherry Teitelbaum
Sherry Teitelbaum has spent thirty years in the theater as a director, dramaturg, actress, acting coach, teaching artist and adapter of works for the stage. She co-founded two NYC theater companies: the women’s theater collective, Playing for Keeps and the not-for-profit repertory company, Theater in Action. She has directed over 68 productions Off-Broadway and regionally. Her recent credits include Bijou (Merkin Concert Hall) and Alchemist of Light (New York International Fringe Festival). She has collaborated as director/dramaturg with seven music theater teams on new musicals. Sherry is both a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society as well as an alumna of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors’ Lab. In 2011, she co-designed and implemented the pilot project of Bridging the Gap, an intergenerational LGBT community-based theater workshop which partnered with SAGE (Services and Advocacy for Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender Elders). Since completing her MA in Applied Theatre at CUNY, Sherry works to generate opportunities for seniors to express themselves through theater.
