Development Intern

Manhattan New Music Project seeks a Development Intern to work approximately 3-5 days per week for 3 months (flexible).

The Development Intern will report to the Development Manager and assist with the following duties:
- Research past and current MNMP funders to ensure up-to-date reporting
- Conduct new prospect research
- Develop new SalesForce donor database
- Report on and vet prospective funders based on prospect research
- Assist in the planning of cultivation and stewardship events, including MNMP concerts and fundraising events
- Prepare application materials
- Draft donor correspondence
- Basic administrative duties such as filing, delivering packages, and running errands

This unique position offers participants “hands-on” training in a fast-paced, team-oriented arts education organization and concert presenter. Interns will gain valuable insight into the world of arts education in New York City Public Schools, concert marketing, and building an individual and foundation fundraising program. The qualified candidate will be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and have the ability to manage multiple projects in a busy work environment. S/he should have strong organizational, written, and verbal skills. Computer literacy of Microsoft Office and basic Internet research is crucial. The candidate must be a team player with flexibility and willingness to work in a variety of tasks. This is a great opportunity to support a growing organization and gain experience in all aspects of arts and education fundraising. College credit available.
