Research

The efficacy of our educational programs has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Innovation and Improvement, which has awarded $9.6 million in support of our multi-year research initiatives. These are our current programs:

Blank Page to Stage (BPS), a four-year original musical theater creation program designed for English Language Learners, and general and special education students (Arts in Education Model Development and Dissemination grant, 2008-12)

Communication and Socialization Through the Arts (CASTA), a three-year professional development program designed to address communication and socialization skills of students with autism through arts-based approaches (Professional Development for Arts Educators grant, 2008-11)

Everyday Arts for Special Education (EASE), a five-year program expanding the approaches piloted in CASTA to serve the needs of students with a wide range of disabilities (Investing in Innovation grant, 2010-15)
