MNMP offers staff development workshops for both arts teachers and classroom subject teachers on arts related topics in New York City's public schools in all five boroughs and has a current system-wide contract for both kinds of services. We can provide arts specific programs in the five major arts disciplines (music, dance, drama, visual arts, creative writing) and / or integrate classroom curricula into an arts rich environment.
Further, we are experienced and successful grant writers. If you are looking for long-term relationships with your cultural CBO's, we'll gladly explore options to further expand your school's budget for arts programming, school materials and more.
MNMP will customize a professional development program for you, addressing the specific needs of your school or region and working within your budget.

All our professional development programs have the following features:
-
The development process for each program MNMP conducts begins with a needs assessment for the specific school it will be held in and its content is adopted to the specific needs of the students it serves to ensure that our work delivers the results you are looking for.
-
All our teacher trainings provide a series of hands-on, student population and topic specific exercises that participants can translate from the training to their classrooms with minimal adaptation. All our programs are based on relevant city, state and federal learning standards to ensure that our trainings are helpful and relevant to your teachers.
-
Our teacher training programs can consist of group workshops and / or one-on-one training in a teacher's classroom. For the one-on-one training teachers and teaching artists will collaborate in the classroom through modeling, co-teaching and reflective review to ensure the successful transfer of materials taught in workshops to each participating classroom.
-
All our training and residency programs focus on techniques to foster student created works that inspire creative inquiry and collaborative study in participating students.
-
All of MNMP's teaching artists are highly experienced teaching and arts professionals. We only hire teaching artists with at least a bachelor degree in the arts, a proven professional career in their field and a minimum of two years of relevant teaching experience.
-
Our teaching artist staff is experienced in working with a broad variety of student populations: General and all types of special education, English Language learners and inclusion classes.
