Annie Levy

Annie Levy is a director, collaborative performer and educator. Working with student populations from second grade through college, Annie teaches drama, movement, improvisation and writing as well as facilitating and directing student created original theatre pieces. She is the resident director of Storahtelling and the Northwoods Theatre Company. Regional and local directing credits include HERE Arts Center, 78th Street Theatre Lab, Vital Theatre, The Jose Quintero Theatre, Makor Visionary Festival and The Playwrights Theatre of NJ. International credits include The Assembly Rooms (Edinburgh, Scotland), Discoteca di Storia (Rome, Italy) and Acadia University (Nova Scotia, Canada). Some of her awards include a 2003 Steven Spielberg Fellowship in Theatre Arts Education, the Jewish Woman’s Education Grant and the S. Rubenstein Family Foundation graduate education grant. Most recently she received a 2008 Directing Assistantship at the Oregon Shakespeare Theatre. She holds a BA from Barnard College in Theatre and Political Science and a MFA in Theatre with a directing concentrate from Sarah Lawrence.
